You are very welcome to come join with us at Harvest Church, Winchester any Sunday. Our meetings are currently held in the Osborne School, Winchester Road at 10am. You are invited to come and share a coffee or tea before the meeting or stay around afterwards for a chat (& usually cake)!
What happens in Sunday meetings?
Our meetings are relaxed in style. We take time to worship together, led by a band with a contemporary sound. Each Sunday there will be teaching from the Bible. We often make time to pray for those who request specific prayer, or respond to an invitation for prayer. Visitors are welcome to take part or just to listen as they feel at ease.
Who attends our meetings?
Our members include students & pensioners, singles & families, children & teens. We are an English church but also have members from many nations. Anyone is welcome.
What time are our meetings?
Our meetings begin at 10am and last up to 2 hours. Younger children are invited to join a childrens meeting ‘First Things’, during the time of teaching from the Bible. Young adults join in our Sunday meetings, but also meet seperately on a Friday evening.
What should I wear to meetings?
We invite you to dress in a way that is comfortable and real for you. Whether that is a suit, jeans and trainers with a t-shirt or flip-flops, you and your family will be made welcome.
Will I be asked to do anything?
It is our practice to welcome visitors with a general announcement at the start of the meeting. Visitors are also invited to join us for tea/coffee & cake/biscuits afterwards.
During times of worship and prayer or after teaching from the bible we may give an opportunity for prayer at the front of the meeting. You are welcome to join in or to stay seated. You are free to choose your level involvement.
We also regularly share communion (We share bread and wine to celebrate our friendship with God.) Visitors are welcome (as believers in Jesus) to join in or watch as they choose.
Are the meetings just for those who believe in Jesus and God?
Actually anyone is welcome to attend our meetings. Our meetings are equally for those who seeking to find whether God is real, as well as those who believe in Jesus.
What is available for our children?
Children join in our meetings as we believe that knowing God is for everyone, young & old. Our experience is that most parents are happy with the growth visible in their children.
Younger children are invited to join our seperate childrens meeting ‘First Things’ during the time of teaching from the Bible. Here they are given age-appropriate activities, teaching & fun. All the leaders are CRB (Criminal Record Bureau) checked according to our child safety policy. We consider children to be of great value (a very biblical value) and attach great importance to their care and protection.
We are also willing to help parents with the practical steps necessary to help children join meetings. There is a selection of books and puzzles at the back of the hall to help occupy younger children. If you have any problem during meetings, our stewards are very willing to help.
